Harley-Davidson Inc (NYSE: HOG) reported a strong rise in its second-quarter net income and lifted its forecast of shipments for the full year. HOG's quarterly profit increased to $190.6 million, or $0.81 per share, from $71.2 million, or $0.30 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue climbed 18% to $1.3 billion. Its profit from continuing operations came in at $0.81 per share. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.72 per share on revenue of $1.26 billion. HOG now projects to ship 228,000 to 235,000 motorcycles in 2011, versus its April forecast of 215,000 to 228,000 bikes.

Coca-Cola Co (NYSE: KO) reported an 18% rise in its second-quarter profit. KO's quarterly profit surged to $2.8 billion, or $1.20 per share, from $2.37 billion, or $1.02 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Its revenue climbed 47% y/y to $12.74 billion from $8.67 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.15 per share on revenue of $12.39 billion.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: GS) reported downbeat profit for the second quarter. GS reported its quarterly profit at $1.09 billion, or $1.87 per share, up from $613 million, or $0.78 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's net revenue came in at $7.28 billion, including interest income, compared with $8.84 billion, in the year-ago period. Analysts were expecting earnings of $2.35 per share on revenue of $8.19 billion.

Peabody Energy Corp (NYSE: BTU) reported a 38% rise in its second-quarter profit and lifted its full-year earnings forecast. Peabody's quarterly profit rose to $284.8 million, or $1.05 per share, from $206.2 million, or $0.76 per share in the year-ago quarter. Its adjusted earnings came in at $1.11 per share. Its revenue surged 21% to $2.01 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.04 per share on revenue of $2.02 billion. BTU lifted its full-year earnings forecast to $4.20 to $4.60 per share, up from its earlier forecast of $3.50 to $4.50 per share. The company projected Q3 earnings of $1.05 to $1.25 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $1.40 per share.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. JNJ's quarterly earnings dropped to $2.78 billion or $1 per share, from $3.45 billion, or $1.23 per share, in the year-earlier period. Excluding one-time items, JNJ's earnings came in at $3.55 billion, or $1.28 per share, versus $3.38 billion or $1.21 per share. Its total revenue rose 8.3% to $16.6 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.24 per share on revenue of $16.24 billion. JNJ maintained its 2011 earnings forecast of $4.90 to $5 per share.

Bank of America Corp (NYSE: BAC) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. Bank of America posted a quarterly net loss of $8.8 billion, or $0.90 per share, versus a net income of $3.1 billion, or $0.27 per share, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted net income came in at $0.33 per share. Analysts were expecting a net loss of $0.90 per share.

Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE: WFC) reported upbeat profit for the second quarter on Tuesday. Wells Fargo's quarterly profit surged to $3.9 billion, or $0.70 per share, from $3.1 billion, or $0.55 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Its total revenue dropped to $20.4 billion from $21.4 billion. Analysts were expecting a profit of $0.69 per share on revenue of $20.46 billion.

UnitedHealth Group Inc (NYSE: UNH) reported a 12.8% rise in its second-quarter earnings. UnitedHealth's quarterly earnings surged to $1.27 billion, or $1.16 per share, from $1.12 billion, or $0.99 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed to $25.2 billion from $23.3 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.91 per share. The company also lifted its full-year 2011 revenue projections to $101 billion. It now expects net earnings in the range of $4.15 to $4.25 per share, up from earlier forecast of $3.95 to $4.05 per share. Analysts project full-year earnings of $4.20 per share.

Bank of New York Mellon Corp (NYSE: BK) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. BK's quarterly net profit surged to $735 million, or $0.59 per share, from $658 million, or $0.54 per share, in the year-ago period. The bank's total fee revenue climbed to $3.01 billion from $2.54 billion. Its net interest revenue surged to $731 million from $722 million.

KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. KeyCorp's quarterly net income surged to $240 million, or $0.25 per share, from $70 million, or $0.03 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue dropped 8.2% y/y to $1.02 billion, from $1.12 billion. Its net interest income declined to $570 million from $623 million in the year-earlier period.

Comerica Inc (NYSE: CMA) reported a 38% surge in its second-quarter profit. Comerica's quarterly profit rose to $95 million, or $0.53 per share, from $69 million, $0.39 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.53 per share.

Omnicom Group Inc (NYSE: OMC) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday.
