Lockheed Martin: No Data Compromised in Cyber Attack
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) confirmed Sunday that it suffered an attack on its network last week from external, unknown individuals. While the company provided no additional information related to the specifics of the alleged breach, it is rumored to have stemmed from a March infiltration of RSA's SecurID authentication system.
Lockheed Martin said in a press release issued Sunday: "As a result of the swift and deliberate actions taken to protect the network and increase IT security, our systems remain secure; no customer, program or employee personal data has been compromised."
The company said the attack took place on Saturday, May 21, and was detected "almost immediately." Also, the company took "aggressive" actions to protect the integrity of its systems and data.
